The World Bank's ESMAP Program
The project is aimed at the energy-efficient development of small towns in Kyrgyzstan, creating comfortable conditions for citizens and increasing their safety. The cities of Balykchy, Toktogul and Sulukta were selected as pilot cities, which in the future may become successful role models for other small towns in Kyrgyzstan.
The total amount of financing for the Project is US$ 14.4 million, which includes US$ 6.6 million in loans and US$ 5.4 million in grant funds allocated through IDA (International Development Association), and co-financing from the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the amount of US$ 2.4 million.
ARIS
- Preparation of design and estimate documentation for the cities of Balykchy and Toktogul (PSD) for further rehabilitation of street lighting in the above-mentioned cities within the framework of the GRP.
- Preparation of a feasibility study of design and estimate documentation for the cities of Balykchy and Toktogul (feasibility study) for further rehabilitation work to improve energy efficiency and earthquake resistance in the above-mentioned cities within the framework of the PGR:
- 4 Feasibility studies for schools;
- 2 Feasibility study for kindergarten;
- 2 Feasibility studies for street lighting
- The relevance and necessity of energy-saving programs for the further economic development of cities was recognized by city council deputies, who approved and adopted documents at their sessions. At present, the programs have entered the practical phase.
