Our history
UNISON Group is an alliance of organizations engaged in civil society (Unison Public Foundation) and consulting services (Unison Consulting LLC). Since 2002, UNISON Group has implemented more than 100 interregional projects on energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate change, sustainable development and many others. Today, with 20+ years of experience, UNISON Group is a recognized leader in these areas.
2002
The journey of UNISON Group began in 2002, when our founder - Nurzat Abdyrasulova registered "Unison Public Foundation" and started to implement projects together with the first employees, some of whom are still working in the ranks of the company.
In the beginning, our activities consisted of holding various environmental events, meetings and civic actions aimed at preserving the environment and taking care of ecology. In addition, in parallel with public activities, our team was engaged in the development of analytical documents on energy efficiency and energy saving.
2005
But by 2005, we had already realized the first, pilot energy certification, a practice that became widespread thanks to the efforts of the company and our partners.
2006
Since 2006, UNISON Group has begun to participate in international conferences where it represents the interests of the public in the Kyrgyz Republic on climate change issues.
2011
In 2011, our company began working in the field of legislation. UNISON Group specialists developed a law: “On Energy Efficiency of Buildings”. Subsequently, several bills were updated and added to promote sustainable and rational use of energy in the context of the region's energy crisis.
2013
From the events that influenced the work of the organization: in 2013 UNISON Group split into an NGO and a Consulting Company. Where the NGO works in the public sector, raising important issues within the laws and regulations of the country on the use of energy resources, as well as, creating initiatives to introduce innovations in legislation to change socio-economic factors towards sustainable development and increase human capital.
UNISON Group provides services in sector analysis, project development, energy audits and energy certification, as well as in organizing conferences and info-companies with the best experts and trainers both from our team and from outside. We provide the tools and expertise needed to carry out successful project activities aimed at sustainable development and environmental protection.
2019-2024
During this period, our company has implemented a number of major international projects. All initiatives are related to the topics of energy and resource efficiency, sustainable tourism, climate change, ecocertification, energy certification, etc.
2020-2024
The project "Promotion of Energy and Resource Efficiency in the Tourism Industry of Kyrgyzstan" (PERETO) was successfully implemented. The project was implemented with funding from the European Union under the SWITCH-Asia program by the American University in Central Asia (AUCA) in consortium with partner organizations: UNISON Group (Kyrgyzstan), Technopolis Group (Belgium), Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production - CCSP (Germany).
The aim of the project is to contribute to energy security and sustainable growth by promoting sustainable production and consumption (SPC) and energy and resource efficiency (ERE) practices among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism sector of Kyrgyzstan.
